SOUTH BROOKLYN COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL / GOOD SHEPHERD SERVICES
South Brooklyn Community High School is a transfer school jointly operated by the Department of Education and Good Shepherd Services. Good Shepherd Services leads nationwide and locally in the development of innovative programs that make a difference in the lives of children, youth and families today. SBCHS is designed to provide considerable support and services to students to ensure continued attendance in school. It integrates a standards-based instructional model with the best practices in youth development. It fosters valuable skills to help them both finish high school and prepare for future success. Website

RED HOOK INITIATIVE
RHI believes that social change to overcome systemic inequities begins with empowered youth. In partnership with community adults, they nurture young people in Red Hook to be inspired, resilient, and healthy, and to envision themselves as co-creators of their lives, community and society. Website

SUMMIT ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL
Summit Academy bridges the gap between aspirations and realities by preparing 6th through 12th grade scholars to gain acceptance to, excel in and graduate from college by using three pillars of success: mastery of core subjects, character building, and community leadership. Website

RED HOOK COMMUNITY JUSTICE CENTER
Launched in June 2000, the Red Hook Community Justice Center is the nation’s first multi-jurisdictional community court that seeks to solve neighborhood problems. These include mediation, community service and a youth court where teenagers are trained to resolve actual cases involving their peers. The Justice Center also works to connect court-involved youth to strengths-based programming, including art projects and peer education programs. The Red Hook Community Justice Centers Youth Programs are a part of the Center’s Positive Youth Justice Initiative. The Red Hook Community Justice Center works to serve all young people within a positive development framework, which draws on their strengths and contributions to their communities and to restore justice. Website
